Backend Back End or Back-End

I was writing caption for the opening form in our personnel & payroll package. The user is supposed to select the the MDB file in which data is kept so that front-end is linked to the tables of that database. I thought I will get a clue from Internet, whether to say backend, back end or back-end - but found there is no consensus among software guys on this issue.

So I am free to write what I decide for the moment!

By the way, before posting this blog, I did a spell-check; this dictionary did not like backend. It is suggesting me to change it to back end or blackened or something similar...
